Center Art Studio is a fine art and object conservation practice that works with private collectors, corporations, and institutions. Established in 1919, we are one of the oldest and longest-running art conservation studios in New York City.

Famous Works

Center Art Studio has had the privilege of working on many notable works of art. Past projects include conservation of pieces by Picasso, Kusama, Miro, Lichtenstein, Leonora Carrington, Bonnard, Vuillard, Sully, members of the Hudson River School, and a wide array of artists from the 17th to the 21st century. Center Art Studio has received coverage in the New York Times, Architectural Digest, Martha Stewart Living, and Colonial Homes, to name a few.

Storied Past

Lansing Moore is the third owner of Center Art Studio. Lansing began his apprenticeship at the studio while finishing college at Brown University in 1979. He trained under Fritz Pohl (the studio's second owner), who trained under the studio's founder Shigeo Nakagawa. Lansing has over thirty-five years of experience working in the conservation of paintings and objects.
