A T'ang dynasty painted terracotta figure of an earth spirit

		Photo on the left shows the figure after it fell from its pedestal onto a stone floor. We assembled the pieces and used fills with the color in the fill, rather than overpainting the fills, so that the original decoration that remained was not hidden. This kind of limited conservation is important in preserving the value of a damaged object. Photo on right shows the result.
