Many objects need help before they can be enjoyed. Sculpture needs pedestals, paintings need frames, fragile pieces need covers, lighted cabinets need to be built. At Center Art Studio, we design and build frames, bases and covers, and we design and supervise the installation of cabinetry and lighting as needed. Through our experience as restorers we take into account the special nature of art objects.

Designing safe and attractive display bases is an important part of our work. In the photo above, a broken Cypriot limestone bust is mounted on a soapstone base. We broke the base so that the combination would appear balanced.

A French bronze medallion

This mount uses cocobolo wood and a traditional style to complement the medallion. The medallion is visible from both sides.
